I'm surprised that nobody has bothered to look at this from a manufacturing standpoint yet. If this is to be a 'normal' 2016 release then you'd expect the cars to start hitting showrooms in late July/early August. If it takes a month for them to be delivered to states as far as California then that means production would have to start at latest by early June. If special orders are taken, customers should be allowed to do so at least a month in advance, which means we know about the model by early May. This is all speculation of course but if Chevy really wants to steal Ford's glow then they'll have to have the car hitting dealerships in time for summer, i.e., June and subsequently that means we know about the model in April, two months away.

As an automation/controls guy, what bothers me is that a couple weeks ago it was mentioned in an article that designers were still putting final touches on the car which that means someone in Detroit is trying to validate machines for the new line while the design isn't locked in. It might be that the holdup is in the factory, not the design. Either way, I expect to hear something by mid-April.
