I can possibly see Ford coming out with a monster GT500 to compete but I think us GM guys are screwed because of the vette. I also think that once they crack the ECU that we will see an easy 100hp they had to pull out because of emissions.

One thing to keep in mind is until someone in the aftermarket, like Paramount of Southern Hot Rod builds a beefed up (above the already beefed up) 8 Speed any power upgrades to the Hellcat motor is going to be like playing Russian roulette.
That being said, a friend of mine recently got his hands on a Hellcat (he has a hot rod shop here in Metro Portland) and he got some time alone with it, examining the engine, etc. He's a old NHRA Pro-Stocker and knows his stuff. That being said, he said that it's an 825HP engine, easy without fear of breaking with stock internals, right down the rod bolts.
Once the ECM is cracked and some parts are developed for it, we'll be seeing 1,000HP Hellcats, my guess is a lot sooner than most think.
