His engine blew, causing damage to the parachutes, so they didn't deploy. He hit a sand trap at over 125 mph, and eventually ran into the cement wall.

Good lord that's bad. I remember when I was like 8 I got a movie about cars (real cars... Kind of a documentary) and it went over Don Garlits and I remember his crash with his dragster that had the front end completely covered with no wing on it. Guess that cemented the use of a front wing.
Awesome you could have chosen anything though. Way better to choose something you actually care about. Did not know top fuel and funny cars only do 1000 feet though.
