Who Says Racing Improves The Breed?

PARIS — The chairman of Ferrari said on Wednesday that he was stepping down after 23 years with the Italian sports car maker, making way for Sergio Marchionne, the chief of the parent group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, to assume the top spot.

The chairman, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, is stepping aside at a time when the company’s Formula One team is having one of its worst seasons in decades and as Fiat Chrysler prepares for its listing in the United States. Nearly five years ago, Fiat took control of the American automaker Chrysler as part of its government bailout and bankruptcy.
