I was an ASE certified technician back in the late 80's early 90's. I can tell you right now, that chemical treatment was what we had to do. We were NOT allowed to beat the crap out of an engine and destroy a transmission in hopes it shook some carbon loose.

These guys should be fired, and the dealership held responsible for ALL of his damages, and while they're at it, lose their accreditation with Ford.
