You need to do your homework. The LT1 is a great engine and would put the 5.0 in its place.
The LT1 makes a ton more power under the curve as compared to the LS3, not to mention it makes 460 HP in the Corvette with the performance exhaust....not 450.
Nothing more than a tune unleashes another 25 - 30 HP. Headers puts you well over 500.
So in the end we get an engine with a crap ton of low end torque, with a nice top end capable of 500+ HP with a few basic mods. What more do you want?
