My issue with spoilers is because of my aerospace engineering background - they serve no functional purpose (for most cars), but they add weight and drag. As far as design goes, I suppose they sometimes add some aesthetic value to some cars. The smaller, subtler ones don't turn me off as much as the giant high-wingers on (front-wheel drive
) imports.
