Your useage sounds about right for what you have described.
My utility uses "smart meters" they provide readout every 15 minutes and daily summaries from their web site.
Suffice it to say, the load varies a lot!
My house is ~2600 sq ft, wife is home all day. During the winter useage is about 30 kw/day, during the summer runs about 60-70 kw/day. A big hitter in the summer is a pool pump (1/2 or 3/4 hp motor) that runs 12 hours a day plus AC.
