Total of 14 hours each way to Baytown and thanks to the trailer, we get 9 miles to the gallon. About every 200 miles we have to stop and get gas. I am now officially back in Florida but still have another 3 hours to go

Oh wow, that's almost 3 times as much gas as if you had driven. But it definitely makes up for it by prevented all the rock chips you would've gotten.
Felting would definitely be a worthwhile option too. No telling if I'll make it out next year.
