How about if it had the all-new 8-Speed automatic that will be in the 2015 Corvette?
The LT1 would have been great but on such a limited model as this I understand why it doesn't.
I'm just glad that the SS got the LS3. The VF Commodore SS V top engine is the 6.0L L77 V8

L77 engines were released in the Holden Commodore Series II VE range in both manual and automatic transmissions, along with the Chevrolet Caprice police car. The L77 is similar to the L76 6.0L that was previously offered in North America in the Pontiac G8 GT; and the L76 is derived from the LS2 6.0L that was offered in the Pontiac GTO and 2005-07 Chevrolet Corvette. The L76 differed from the LS2 with its inclusion of Active Fuel Management (AFM) cylinder deactivation technology. The L77 retains AFM and adds FlexFuel capability, allowing it to run on E85 ethanol. The L77 is rated at 361 horsepower (269 kW) and 385 lb.-ft. of torque.

The LS3 is exclusive to the U.S. market SS.
The manual the VF Commodore uses is the T-56 that was found in VE Commodore.
