You are absolutely correct as skin fold measurements are the worst of all and not even remotely close to correct. Those are generally 5-10% off. Water saturation plays a huge part in skin fold tests being incorrect as it actually inflames the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous layers.

Perhaps my wording is incorrect. Essential body fat for a younger male is considered to be somewhere shy of 5% for a guy my age it is more like 15%
