Oh trust me, climbing the ladder with the state is a nightmare. Going up the pay scale is even worse.

On the other hand, the state pays for a lot of stuff. I have zero commute costs, my Internet bill is paid for monthly, I have a pretty kick-ass health insurance plan, basic life insurance free of charge, and my job is pretty secure. Plus I work on my own schedule.

Speaking of which, is "satisfactorily" a word? Because I wrote that on an inspection form today.
