I mean, if you try to replay this scenario in your head, the kid probably didn't turn around right away, and was probably thinking about what to do next...
of course that's just the way i'm thinking. I don't see why a police officer of 25 years is looking to kill the next person he sees, like a rabid dog or something.

If it were only the rookie that shot then I could see something not right, maybe he panicked or something. But this cop has 24/25 (I've seen both in news reports) experience. I doubt after that long on the force all his training would be forgotten and he would blindly shoot a kid on purpose or even accidentally for that matter.
