I hope you enjoy your Mercedes. It certainly looks good, and fairly quick. Or at least will feel that way with the low-end torque from the turbo.

I would be curious to see the full budget analysis for this however.
Very roughly, if you went from 25 average mpg to now 38 mpg with the Merc, you are still looking at over $325/month in gas ($175/month savings). I'm curious how long it will take for the monthly $175 savings in gas to actually overtake the expenses and losses incurred on trading in the car for a newer and presumably more expensive one.

If you calculate the cost-per-mile of the Camaro including all payments, maintenance, service, insurance, gas and do the same for the Mercedes, the Mercedes could still cost more to operate overall on a per mile basis.

Unless the car is out-of-warranty, or over at least 5 years-old (or high mileage), and a massive gas guzzler, trading out relatively new cars simply for the sake simple fuel efficiency often ends up costing more money overall... or at least it could take up to 3 or more years in some cases to actually start realizing a true savings, at which point many are ready to trade in the car again.

But overall car enjoyment and satisfaction are intangibles, that you can't really place a value on. So again, hope you enjoy the car.
