I'm a little worried that GM performance cars in general could be in trouble. Lets just pretend that the new Mustang GT only loses 150lbs and has 450hp. That would make it as light as a Vette with a close power to weight. Hell it could lose even more weight than that with a bigger bump in power. Is the Vette the better car? Totally, but when people look at the price difference it may not matter. There is no way that GM is going to let the 6th gen Camaro step on their flagship car's toes. They will not let the 6th gen base v8 car get too close in performance numbers. What that means for 6th gen Camaro SS owners is that the car will not weigh less than 3600lbs and no more than 460hp. That's bad news for the Camaro vs Mustang battle, a car that has no big brother to step on. So unless the car's looks are as big of a hit as the current 5th gen it could mean doom for the car. If the looks of the car are fantastic and much better than the stang it will still do well, if not the car could be in big trouble.
