I haven't read the WHOLE thread... just the first 3 1/2 pages, but I'd just like to share my experience with police in my Mustang, since I don't have a Camaro (yet.)

Now, I'm only 18, I've been driving this car since I was 16. In those 2 short years, I've been pulled over 5 times.

1st ticket, City police, speeding 72 in a 50. Well deserved, didn't give any lip, was more worried about my dad.

1st warning, constable, rolled a stop sign, guy was nice, I honestly didn't realize I rolled it, he let me off.

2nd ticket, speeding, State trooper, guy was really cool, got me going 90 in a 65, wrote me out for 85 because he didn't want to deal with the paper work, and he saw that I was just a kid. I thanked him, several times.

3rd ticket, speeding, campus police, 34 (I think?) in a 20. This was my one and only screw up. Was having a bad day, come out to find scratches on the car after school. Was a total A** to the guy. Got a ticket. I found out later, he was going to give me a warning, but my attitude got me a ticket. I found him at school the next day, apologized, and explained my bad day, not to get out of the ticket, but because I felt bad.

2nd warning, constable, license plate light was out, was nice and casual since I knew the guy because of community service from my first ticket, still gave him the respect his uniform deserved though.

All except my third ticket, I was just as respectful to those men as I am to my parents, and my instructors in High school ROTC if not more.

Now, I see a lot of people in this thread saying this that and the other about our police officers, and it honestly baffles me.

My father used to be a policeman, long before I was born, he is now a federal agent, so I was always raised to respect the hell out of anyone in a uniform, that puts themselves in harms way for us 'normal folk'.

Maybe it is because I was raised to respect them, or maybe it is because a lot of people close to me are in their shoes, but I just do not understand people who badmouth police.. Yes, there are some bad ones, but isn't that true for, well, everything?
