Jim Hall did the opposite though, in the Chaparral 2J for 1970 Can Am. they called it the 'sucker car' and could make downforce that actually could overcome the car's weight- it could have driven on the ceiling of a tunnel, like the bat-mobile. It actively made a partial vacuum under the car.
