It's a little FM transmitter that plugs into the thingamajig at the bottom of your iPod and it broadcasts an FM signal. You just tune your car stereo to an open frequency and set the iTrip to broadcast at the same frequency.
Since my dad's Saturn died a year too early and I had to get an '07 Malibu without an aux. jack.
