Yes when you put the key in and start it the car is automatically in the mode most intended for regular street use/daily driving. Now if you want a more spirited street driving experience then you can start using some of the PTM modes. If you go onto youtube and search for the chevy channel they have a video that explains what all the PTM modes do and what they are intended for. There are actually quite a few education ZL1 videos made by Chevrolet for the ZL1 owners to get to know their cars. Check them out on Chevy's youtube channel.
BTW congrats on the new ZL1. They are an awesome car!!
