I live at the other end of the county, about two hours from you, and I get to Sierra Vista a couple of times a year. Usually take Syble road to cut off Benson, then down to Tombstone and the Charleston road into SV.
Lots of "nice" two lane roads in the county to "explore".
The closest I've come to owning a Camaro was a set of LT1 heads on a heavily modified SB 406 in a Blazer.
Great forum, I'm leaning more toward a '10 or '11 SS that can be modified a bit, like what you've done, and then keep an eye open for gen 6.
Not sure about a cam swap yet, will need to learn more about the LS3 internals and clutch.
