I am 62 and my list is short but long in good memories. Never had an auto I did not like.

1963 T-Bird: I was age 12 & Dad went to look at a 1963-1/2 Ford 500 XL. I saw that 1963 Bird and would not leave until he bought the Bird. My 1st car given to me on my 16 birthday in early 1967.

1966 T-Bird: I was age 15 and went with Dad as he wanted a new Mustang. I saw the Bird and would not leave until he bought the Bird.
Side note: Dad borrowed my 1963 Bird, wrecked it, gave me the 1966 Bird, borrowed the 1966 wrecked it, gave me a blank check and sent me to his friend at a Chevy dealership with instructions "do not go crazy" (meaning Camaro).

1970 Nova SS fully optioned (bought new with Dad's blank check): Had only 3 days to buy something new, and not go crazy, after Dad wrecked my 1966 T-Bird and I had to return to college in Miami. Dad thought I was practical buying a Nova until weeks later he realized the Nova cost more than a lessor optioned Camaro and after he received the insurance bill on the SS. Pay back for wrecking my two T-Birds was a bitch but Dad thought it funny I pulled one over him and I was long gone back to college.

1974 Buick LeSabre convertible (new): I was a college dropout bartending at a disco on Miami Beach. Paid cash for the Buick with my tips. I was a young guy living in Miami so had to have a convertible.

1976 Eldorado convertible (new): Had returned to college to finish my degree. Bet a friend if he bought a certain property he could turn it around for a massive profit within 3 months. I won the bet, he gave me a new white 1976 Eldo convertible and because we were friends I gave him my 1974 Buick convertible.

1985 Dodge Colt hatchback (new). Had moved on to Houston with the Eldo, then to NYC, then moved to Philadelphia & decided I need something smaller. More than a few drinks one weekend during brunch went to a dealership bought the Colt because I liked the color, had to be delivered to me because I was too drunk to drive it home. Loved that little Colt.

1993 Hyundia Excel hatch (new): Had taken the Colt back to NYC & 1992 had 1st middle age crisis, moved to Virginia for a graduate degree. Started full time in graduate studies with Dad's financal help. One Thanksgiving weekend after I started graduate courses I went to visit Dad and we were watching football games on TV. At halftime, Dad said he wanted to go for a drive. He drove me to the dealership, said pick out something fast, I want you to drive something with a good warrenty. Traded the Colt for an Excel in less than 1/2 hour (I liked the color). Deal was done so fast I left all my credit cards in the Colt. We got back home and only missed a few minutes of the football game 3rd quarter.

1996 Sebring LXI coupe (new): Finished grad school in '95', Dad had cancer and I had a book deal to publish based on Master Thesis so stayed with Dad. Dad died, I moved to Michigan to be a professor. New life, and one day in a parking lot saw a black 1995 Sebring LXI coupe, had to have it so ordered a white 1996 LXI and traded the Excel. Loved the Sebring, hated Michigan and moved to Dallas summer 1996.
Left teaching 1999, started an internet business in 1999, moved to the Middle East to teach a few courses in 2000 (for just 4 months). Dropped the Sebring off with a friend in NYC and garaged it for what turned into storage for 2 years while I was in the M.E. Finally returned in 2002, drove back to Dallas, then moved to Ottawa in 2003 with the Sebring & 5 cats (3 from NYC & 2 from M.E).

1998 Buick Riviera (inherited): South Carolina aunt had been buying Riviera's since she first saw my new 1976 white Eldo convertible. Every time she decided to buy a new car I had a two weeks notice to arrive and test drive dozens of cars with her but she always ended up buying another white Riviera. Became a family joke. She loved her cars, she died in 2005 while I was on business in China. She left me her 1998 Riviera which I imported to Canada late 2005. Still loved that pearl white Riviera and I still keep her red umbrella in the car. Hopefully will never sell.

2011 Camaro 2LT (new): Saw the Camaro concept and could not get it out of my mind. May 2010 preordered a white 2011 2LT and traded my white 1996 Sebring LXI. Perhaps the Camaro was my second mid life crisis. More than 2-1/2 years later, and less than 5,000 miles, at my age the Camaro might be my last new car. I still smile looking at my summit white 2011 Camaro I ordered my way.

Still dreaming / wanting a 1963 T-Bird convertible. Do not intend sell my supercharged 1998 Riviera or my 2011 Camaro 2LT.
