Probably a hoax but in case it is not....

Someone posted a screenshot of the BBC online news which shows the date of November 5, 2012.

The top story on the BBC news page says "Nasa warns of potential Asteroid impact". They describe an object the size of the state of Texas. They imply it will arrive late December 2012, or early January. Says object is moving 31,000 mph. Article states object has 30 percent chance to hit earth. I would not want to imagine anything hitting earth at 30,000 mph. (If the article really did exist, it can no longer be found anywhere.)

This is likely a professional hoax, however the person posting it claims he has screenshots from 3 different news outlets reporting the same thing.

Here is a link to his info: http://defenceforumindia.com/forum/s...collision.html

The only reason I somewhat pay attention to this, is because to me, you cannot really talk about that topic out loud to the general public (if the story is true) because it would lead to panic.

Someone on CNN-i-report also talked about this asteroid situation: (not that this gives the story any further credibility)
