I only got mine at 29 because I convinced the powers that be that I had to buy my car before we had kids...
They guys at work joke about "we know who makes the money here" and I always respond "no we no who isnt married with children"

29 here also, similar pressure and reactions from friends/family/co-workers. I tell people it is my one-third life crisis.
