Though I agree 'shit happens'........for it to go on as long as it did is what gets my goat. And even more recent, I believe (dont quote me) 2000-2004 Crown Vics also had 'exploding' gas tank issues. I know because our entire fleet of police cars had to go to Ford to have a brace or plate installed. Apparently, in a rear end collisons, as the tank was pushed forward, it made contact with some, either suspension or body bolts, thus rupturing the tank. We (at least a large number of us) realize these are man made vehicles.......as are planes, trains, busses, bicycles, skate boards, etc. They break, usually at the most inopportune times. And sometimes bad things happen. But knowing a problem exsist and not acknowledging it, and/or at least making some kind of effort to correct it, IMO, is inexcusable.
But, I, you, all of us, still buy cars, still get on planes, usually with our heads up our asses, brains in our smart phones, believing the world is right and nothing will happen to us. Aint gonna happen. We are an imperfect race in an imperfect world. Ok, thats the beer talking
