Graduated in 1975. At that time I was driving......

1961 Stepside Chevy Shortbed with straight 6, 3 on the column, no A/C, no radio, just rubber floor mats, given to me by my grandfather when he bought a new truck for his ranch. Baby blue....at least what paint was left on it. Gave it to my cousin shortly after graduating.

1970 Corvette 454 T-Top, white with blue interior. It was my uncle's car who got deployed to Germany and asked me to keep it in good shape while he was gone. Couldn't afford to drive it much as it got less than 8 MPG when I was driving it. I did get pulled over in it once with four girls in the car with me. Cop was laughing so hard, he offered to escort me back to where the girls had parked their cars.

My pride and joy was a 1969 Chevelle Malibu SS 396/375 sky blue with parchment white seats and black carpet. It was originally a college graduation gift to my (other) uncle's new bride (her dad owned a Chevy dealership in San Antonio and he originally ordered it for himself). After getting married, they decided they didn't need two cars and sold it to me in 1973 for $1500. I added Headman Headers to it and drove the hell out of it. I "loaned" it to my younger brother to use strictly for going back and forth to college. To him it was simply transportation and pretty much trashed it.

1968 Olds 98, grey with dark grey interior. I ended up with this car by accident. I worked part time at a bank and the VP was getting a divorce and just wanted to dump the car and get out-of-town. $400 cash. This car had a HUGE back seat.

My mom regularly complained it look liked we were running a used car lot in front of our house. I had to work a lot to keep fuel and insurance on the cars.
