I agree. Unless they run a car the way it comes out of the factory on the Ring, the times are even more pointless. Once you cage a car, it does wonder for rigidity of the chassis. Not only that, different days, different drivers, different conditions, with 140+ turns, times are so inconsistent between cars, it's hard to make a comparison. Even if the new GT500 runs a 7:30, would that necessarily make it a faster car than the ZL1 around a road course? Unless they did that time with traffic on the track, no.
