Back in the day here in Indy, there was the infamous Madison Av. It was where you cruised, parked, watched and even, yes, street raced. On the weekends there would be hundreds that would gather and line the road (in business parking lots, resteraunts etc) and watch the other hundreds that rolled that 1/2 mile or so stretch of roadway. If you kept your cool and acted like a human, the cops would pretty much let us do our thing. This tradition had been going on since the 50's.
Sadly, that tradition died a few years ago because of the ****tards you talk about. The police, I being one of them, had to shut it down. I hated it with all my soul as I had spent many many years enjoying this once great tradition. It was great seeing classic muscle, modern muscle, rice, low riders, hoopties, etc hanging out and sharing a common bond........cars.
But times change...and people change...and attitudes change. I dont know if its the too long rope of freedom we are allowed in this country or too many single parent familys or perscription drug abuse or what. But something has given this world a privileged, arrogant, me first, instant respect , self gratification attitude that floors me. And its those same goofs that would come drunk, doped up or high on ignorance that would cause all kinds of problems.....crashes, fights, shootings etc. They cant see past their own selfishness to realize, this is not all about them, its about all of us.
