Where is the 650hp option on the Z as well as others options not found on it like NAV, Recaro's, glass roof, ect so that's not an intelligent argument because the Vette, and 911 are no different. The ZL1 is marketed as a one size fits all car which is cool and all but you can put down another car for giving the customer a choice of options to suit their driving needs and style.

Its just like a 911 or other european performance cars you can have it mild (no frills) for cheap and wild for ridiculous money.

What if the base model beats the ZL1 on a road course? I say this because it now has the same good year G2's that the ZL1 has but has less then 1/2 of contact patch and the fact that they used the Boss to go head to head and not the 2012 GT500 PP that has never been beat by a Boss.

All this will be settled in a month or so and hopefully I will have the winner parked in my garage. I'm leaning towards the ZL1 but the little boy inside me doesn't know if I can handle getting beat by the new GT500 when I take it to the strip or run into one on elsewhere.

If this post is inappropriate please let me know and I will edit it vs suspending me....Its just how I feel because I don't plan on racing either car at a road course because it costs a lot more and the $15 wednesday nights at the local 1/4 is a lot easier on the pocket book vs expensive track days that eat up brakes, tires, burn more more fuel getting their and racing, higher entrance fee you get the picture.

I will most likely getting the base model of each but the NAV on the GT500 is tempting as well as the alcantara package on the ZL1. Both will be getting the cheapest set track only rims and drag radials and gonna beat the crap out of it and try to be one of the quickest stock powered (to keep warranty) powered ZL1 or GT500. I may hold off on the DR's for a bit because real world test haven't been done yet and because Ford said that their launch control delivered the same acceleration times with slicks and stock tires after heating them up.
