If you consider the 12.1 and 12.3 as accurate for the car, that's ok, but there was no question the MT tester said he ran sub 12s...so it really doesn't matter. In another post, I found all the 1/4 mile runs in at leasst 5 magazines including Mustangs and Fast Fords and no 2011 GT500 broke into the 11s. Here's what I found on GT500s with the performance package by SVT:

Car & Driver 12.4
Motor Trend 12.35
Edmunds 12.4
Autoweek 12.3
Road & Track 12.4
Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords 12.02 (using their best driver and every trick in the book)

Not exactly 11 second cars.

If the ZL1 ran under 12s, lets say 11.9, and the average of 6 car magazines equals 12.3 for the current GT500, the difference is .4 seconds, and that's not just slightly faster. Anyone who wins by .4 seconds in the 1/4 mile is at least 5 or 6 car lengths ahead of the competitor if not more.
