Not true.

The v6 has got a slightly different motor with more power for 2012 (different cams and heads with manifolds built in)

The SS has standard upgraded suspension (fe4) for 2012 as well.

Since when would a body refresh be in order after only 3 model years? The camaro and mustang have typically done it every 5 years or so. Ford has slightly updated the body again this year...in a quicker fashion than normal....obviously due to them falling behind in sales. Not sure why GM would change the body already when it is such a massive success.

Anyways...this looks awesome. I would love to have that app on my car. Great job ford. This just means GM will do it eventually now I am sure. Innovation is a great thing for everyone.
