I lived in a war zone (Beirut, Lebanon) even post war in the late 90's as a kid. 3-5 days without power? Try only having power for 4 or 6 hours a day for 8 months... if you're lucky.
Still though... I don't really miss the snow, and am glad we dodged the hurricanes this year!

the trees crack like gun fire & your nerves are on end not knowing when one is going to hit you, your house or a vehicle.
for the most part we are use to power outages in this state. Heck a dog farts & we lose power. so the lost of power is nothing. even more so when my husband is military & we can just head to base for showers & what have you.
but its the cracking & popping of the trees heck as i said the one picture fell just as my son went under it & I heard the cracking, just as he walked under it. Yelled his name & he darted out in time. scary as hell its something we dont see around here but every few years.
