In the Guard there is an option to go to OCS without a degree. OCS takes two years and takes place like a normal drill. Once you receive your commission you have four years to obtain your degree. Until then you can not reach the rank of Captain (O-3). With the way promotions work in the guard, I'd not want to risk missing that chance! There are several paths to becoming an officer once you're enlisted.
