They were called vent windows. It was great for smokers back then. A little history. Before A/C was the norm, cars had vent windows and little vent doors by the front passengers feet. Chevrolet called it ASTRO ventilation (1968) when they continously circulated air through the air vents that used to be only in place when ordering A/C.
