There is a market for RWD full size sedans, but it is very limited. Impala will do much better as a full size FWD/AWD sedan. It will essentially be a poor man's Cadillac XTS.

That's probably why you won't see it. The G8 never made a big splash sales wise and it looks like GM is trying to get away from low volume platforms.
