It's really not a version of anything. I believe it's being co-developed alongside an Opel, but there isn't an existing vehicle it's based off of. It's not like how the Terrain and Equinox are based off each other.
Closest relative would be Sonic, but it's not a compact, it's a CUV. Think Nissan Rogue sized.
