The Second Mile did nothing...there were a lot of people who knew about Sandusky and what he was doing that were DIRECTLY involved that did nothing. The one man who was indirectly involved has just been railroaded out of town because he was a figurehead - he did not perpetrate any acts on a child, nor did he directly witness any acts against a child - yet he is being treated as if he held the kids down or participated and that is just wrong - plain and simple. THIS is why I am upset - the focus has been on taking Joe and the entire football program down instead of being on the animal who actually wronged children. Now that Joe is gone, maybe the focus can be directed at those that actually did wrong - where it belongs. |
I read it completely. He sugar coats how it was worded to him, but even those words were enough for the most powerful man at that campus to to stop Sandusky right then and there. Regardless what you think his legal obligations were, he failed to act on something he knew for a decade. He ALLOWED Sandusky to have free rein on those children and turned his head.
