These coaching staffs spend more time with each other than their own families. Do you honestly think that he and McQueary or the other coaches ever discussed it again. He continued to let Sandusky use the facilities and run a program for children knowing full well what happened. He makes me sick. The whole staff makes me sick. THEY KNEW! The FEDS are now involved with the lack of reporting the incident. Joe is in hot water still.
Did you read the indictment? Start there. Joe was cleared by a grand jury of all wrongdoing LEGALLY. Morally, I believe your points are somewhat well founded as I pointed out in my reply to PQ's post. I am not making excuses for Joe - I hope more comes out and that Joe gets the chance to tell us all the rest of the story - that he was told or not told to sweep this under the rug and by whom. I am angry and disgusted at how Penn State handled Sandusky, and upset that Joe did not make McQuery call the police or follow up on what he was told - for this I am angry with Joe. Hell, I am mad that this was NOT handled internally - as in the football team using Sandusky as a tackling dummy until dead then his ass thrown in the incinerator on campus. I have a lot of anger toward Sandusky's wife - a lot of this happened in their home! She did not stop him. The mother of the boy who had Sandusky dead to rights in front of two police officers could have pressed charges and did not. The cops did nothing. The Second Mile did nothing...there were a lot of people who knew about Sandusky and what he was doing that were DIRECTLY involved that did nothing. The one man who was indirectly involved has just been railroaded out of town because he was a figurehead - he did not perpetrate any acts on a child, nor did he directly witness any acts against a child - yet he is being treated as if he held the kids down or participated and that is just wrong - plain and simple. THIS is why I am upset - the focus has been on taking Joe and the entire football program down instead of being on the animal who actually wronged children. Now that Joe is gone, maybe the focus can be directed at those that actually did wrong - where it belongs.
