One, I don't think Onstar wants that reputation... they are going to take enough heat just for yesterday's disclosure. If you add to that the idea that they are going to be giving out very specific personal driving/location information... it would lose customers in droves! Two... that aside, it just wouldn't be cost effective for an insurance company to request personal detail info. They would have to pay through the nose (or some orifice) for that data. If they want that specific data, it would be much easier/cheaper to do it themselves, and some of them are... "You put this monitoring device in your car, you get a discount."

I completely 100% agree with you. My point was more it doesn't matter how much sense you make, if you search "OnStar" on this forum (or heck just look through the first page of threads on it in General Discussion) you will find a large amount of complete ignorance to it here.
