Bull F'ing Sh!*
all the aftermarket tuners out there claim to be able to "hide" their tunes.
the trick is, GM looks at more than just the flash counter.
cus there's some tuners whose software reverts the flash counter back to what it was originally, but they dont realize that there are other ways for GM to see how many times the PCM has been accessed. the flash counter is just the easiest way

Um I haven't heard of this. Idk if this holds true with our computers.

while the computers arent physically the same, GM's warranty program and their tuning priniciples are the same.

And anyway, you don't have any mods do you? Are you auto or manual?

GM can see if you've tuned a v6. its just not as common to break a v6 hard enough for the dealer to need to investigate further.

And I swore they said they had no way to check the reflash history. That they could only tell if the current tune is stock or not with our system.

well, theoretically.... the extra power level your engine is making will then be transmitted thru the transmission. as such the transmission will wear faster than normal. now, "faster than normal" could be 100,000 miles vs 120k. or it could be 10k miles.
just depends.
and I will guarantee you that damn near every tuner on here will say that you can revert your car to stock to go to the dealer. and while thats true, GM can still see it. the trick is that most people's cars dont break hard enough for GM to need to go that far into the computer

how many of those members in the V6 section have dealt directly with the people that wrote the software for the ECM?
