Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. So far about 5000 acres have burned, about 1500 of those in Medicine Park. It is about 40% contained. The winds started up this afternoon, but have died down tonight. They have managed to keep it from destroying any more homes so far than the 14, and there are no injuries, thank God. Medicine Park is all evacuated, and it looks like they may be evacuating some surrounding areas as the fire spreads east.
For anyone who has been to Medicine Park, it sounds as though the business district has not been affected, the area where the Old Plantation is located. That part is good news.
It started on the West Artillery Range on Fort Sill, and spread rapidly north from there.
Going to be another hot day tomorrow. Actually we don't have a day under 103 for the next 10 days. I believe we are at over 30 days already over 100, and we are in a severe drought. I heard this morning that the National Weather Service has said that we are in for a heat wave that will "rival any we have seen since the Dust Bowl."

Sounds like a good summer to go north.
