Anyway, to add to what Milk said about resting, a good way to do it is to rotate the things that you do. If you're only doing a bit each day thats fine, pushups one day, sit-ups the next and go for a jog the day after. Repeat the cycle then take a day off.
Yep, give the muscles at least one day's rest before working them again.
