It looks like some people are having a real problem that should be corrected by ford, but most just either have never driven a manual trans before. Grinding going into any gear = problem that should be fixed. Stiffness and notchiness when cold = you didn't buy a ferrari. Every manual trans car at a reasonable price I have ever driven has had 1-2 notchiness when cold.
That's the problem with forums. A few people have a problem and everyone goes crazy paranoid. I hope Ford takes care of the problem for the people that have it, and I expect they will. On the other hand, half of those people are describing typical cold trans.
