In the course of running a few errands later in the evening, I had no fewer than 4 "performance" cars (1 Camaro SS, 2 '05-'06 GTO's and one Challenger R/T) come up to me at various locations looking to have a contest of speed. I guess, given the sticker in the window, that they assumed the car was stock, just off the showroom floor and would be easy pickings. Imagine their surprise!

I'll have to do this again once the new Camaro's start hitting the streets. Given how slow a stock GT500 is perceived to be by many of those who go by mostly past magazine tests of the car, I can't wait to see the reaction of some of the owners when their new, 426hp Camaro gets smoked by a "just purchased" GT500. Of course, there's a good chance I might get surprised in the process, as well, given the number of die-ahrd GM performance guys I know that are just itching to get their hands on a Gen5 SS.
? most of the time we hear that the GT500 doesn't handle too well but I don't remember anyone calling it slow.
