Thats because corn prices
don't go up because of ethanol usage. The price of corn, or any other food, goes up largely because energy prices go up, which also causes a greater demand for cheaper ethanol fuel thus providing the link between greater ethanol usage and higher corn prices. People tend to ignore the fact that other crops such as potatoes, carrots, and beans also go up pretty much in lock-step with corn.
