Depends on what your definition of "smoke" is.
To me: 12.5@114 vs 12.3@117 is not getting "smoked". To me it would take at least a full second faster to be considered a smoking.
Im getting my times from the 392 Challenger. It has ran a best ET of 12.4 and best mph 114-115. And no the Challenger is not that much lighter. 100-200 lbs tops. The cars are basically the same, but from ive heard so far the new Charger will have better Aero than the Challenger.
The amount of new features and technology in this new charger is amazing. For once I can say this is one SRT8 that is well worth the coin. The cts-v will likely be $20k ($43k vs $63k) more than this car. Even the ZL1 will likely be $10k more. I would much rather buy this car and throw a $10k supercharger on it and and go V/ZL1 hunting on a daily basis. lol

And it is even worse with the Charger which adds things like heated AND cooled front seats, heated rear seats, adaptive cruise control, 19 speaker Harman Karden (however it is spelled) audio system (same as is an option on the Lexus LS460), paddle shifters, electronic suspension, etc, etc.
Also I am not saying the ZL1 is not worth it's price, it will be, it is just in a different niche and should not be compared to SRT8 anymore than a barebones Mustang GT or Camaro SS should be.

Yup u just about summed it all up...wait u forgot to mention that 19 speaker sound system will be powered by 900 Watts! All STANDARD equipment
