I know from experience that the options that I mentioned won't work for everybody. I live in a small town that is at least a 30 min drive, at 80 km/h (50 mph), until i get to a city. There is no mass transit within walking or biking distance for me either. That's why i specified that the solutions i provided are never going to solve the problem. And for people in situations like silverado, SUV's like the hybrid Taho and Yukon are good options.
