Which is why some say a ZL1 is more in line with a GT500.
Whatever you call it. If its a camaro and it has a blown motor from the factory??? My kids may have to get scholarships to go to college...

I'll reiterate what I've said at least 1,500 times.

The Z28 is a low-displacement Camaro featuring high performance. There is no history of supercharged Z28s being standard. There is lots of heritage behind supercharged SS cars throughout the Chevrolet lineup, but the Camaro SS is not supercharged. In other words, the Z28 will likely not be supercharged.

Additionally, the ZL1 has held a place more comparable to the GT500. "But I've seen tons of YouTube videos of Z28s racing GT500s." I know you have. The truth is that the Mustang GT doesn't exactly match up with the SS. It has lower displacement than the SS, and that would make it a closer competitor to a lower displacement Camaro in the eyes of many. A low-displacement V8 could appear in the lineup under the SS, but that would intrude on V6 pricing and would make the likely lower production Camaro a waste of resources. Alternatively, a Z28 could be a forced induction V6 to reflect its heritage. There is no evidence to suggest that GM has researched either option, suggesting that the Z28 is currently a dormant project.

We don't know when a Z28 will return to the Camaro lineup. We do know that the SS is so close in performance to the Corvette that a Z28 that performs faster than a Corvette would have to be limited production because it would end up stealing away Corvette sales if it were priced closer to the SS. The SS is also powerful enough that it would be possible to get in the range of a Z06 with forced induction, making a Z28 far less likely than a forced induction or stage kit that would enhance the existing platform's power. If the Z06 had more than 505 hp, it would make sense to place a Z28 in the 475-500-hp range. If it had any less or any more power, it would be too close for the price to either the Camaro SS or the Corvette Z06. Traditionally, the Z06 has always led the Z28; however, the ZL1 Camaro has been faster than the Z06, making possible a high-performance ZL1 featuring aforementioned performance GM engines, such as the LSA. There is, however, a ceiling on ZL1 performance. The Corvette ZR1 is GM's fastest platform, so a ZL1 is not in a position to match the LS9-equipped Corvette. That does not, however, eliminate the possibility of a Camaro featuring the same engine because the Corvette and the Camaro have a long-standing tradition of sharing motors.
