Now, I'm not a Ford guy, so most of my info comes from other Ford guys and the links and magazines they provide.
Here's what I read about the rods :
Connecting Rods
The connecting rods are forged from powdered metal and designed for reduced weight. The small end features a bronze bushing and full floating pin. With the 5.0 Liters center-to-center length the same as a 4.6-liter engine, we imagine the Manley H-beam type connecting rods found in the 2003-2004 Terminator Cobra would be an easy upgrade for this engine. Race engine builders looking to up the 5.0 liters power output past 600 hp should consider forged H-beam rod
That came from this write up on Stang TV == > http://www.stangtv.com/forum/new-5-0...eady-6957.html
I know for a fact I can push my internally stock LS3 to 600 tire horsepower without any inernal mods. GM is doing it right by providing you with a stellar foundation to build on. Yes the Camaro weighs 200 pounds more, but it's pretty easy to make that up right quick.
Both cars are proving to be stout starting points for the car lovers. I'm 41, and I can tell you this....if you had a 600 horsepower you were GOD. Fast forward to today and not only can you have insane horsepower lovers, but you can drive them anywhere and knock down 20 plus mpg...not to mention all the modern convience and safety features.
The bickering is tiresome and pointless, esp on a Chevrolet forum....ya see my point?

so far the coyote has lived to similar power levels.
AUTOMATIC CAR: 6 psi and ONLY 542 rwhp... http://www.youtube.com/user/Supercar.../0/BqARqDpKD_Q
600rwhp is probably near the limit of the coyote. you should expect that with similar rod designs. 6.2 - 5.0 rods are similar metallurgy.
fastlane turbo = 610rwhp/ 598 rwtq.
