Teachers may not have the highest paid jobs out there, but they are also not the lowest.
Besides it's all about what you do with your money once you earn it, not how much you make. If you save and invest most of what you make, you will be able to buy things later on in life that you want, and more importantly you will be able to do things when you retire.

Depends where you work I hear salaries can vary GREATLY in teaching. NY/CT/NJ have some counties with great salaries.
