Okay, I'm messing with you, a little. 
As a police officer, I don't think I would make that stop, unless I thought it would lead to something else. That sounds like a good PC type statute. It's not uncommon for stops like that to lead into a bigger issue, ie;DUI, drugs, suspended driver, etc.
Again, the officer didn't issue a citation, so one would think he was having a slow day or was "window shopping" (as we call cheese PC stops) for a more serious infraction. |
I agree, but honestly I would think there is more to this than we were told...and not by fault of the OP. My guess being he may have been hunting for something more, and probably had more pc to boot....whether it included drifting, or just one simple fail to maintain. All I am saying is I am not going to jump this officer when I didn't see it, not to mention it IS justified. Cheese none the less...but justified
